I participated in the Finish A Long last year and I really enjoyed having a little motivation to complete some of my many Work In Progress projects. So it’s the Quarter 2 of the 2014 Finish A Long and I am signing up the following projects with Katy @ The Littlest Thistle.
1. Grandma’s Star.
I hand pieced this top last year and I now need to finish hand quilting this 1930s reproduction quilt and put on some binding. I am hoping to finish it off this quarter.
2. Triple Irish Chain
I would like to complete the pieced borders, baste and then hand quilt. If I finish the top by Q2 and then hand quilting in Q3 I will be very happy. If I spread some of the activities across two quarters at least I will be making progress!
3. Green Tea & Sweet Beans
I would also like to work on my Green Tea & Sweet Beans quilt and I am definitely hoping to make a few more blocks this quarter:
These projects are mostly hand pieced, appliqued and/or hand quilted and entering them in the Finish A Long helps to keep me focused and motivated. Many thanks Katy for hosting the 2014 Finish A Long @ The Littlest Thistle! Stop by Katy’s blog and check out all the fabulous projects.
I am linking this post up with Fabric Tuesday @Quilt Story, So Cute Tuesday @Blossom Heart Quilts, Lets Bee Social @Sew Fresh Quilts and WIP Wednesday @Freshly pieced, Whoop Whoop @ Confessions of a Fabric Addict and Finish It Up Friday @ Crazy Mom Quilts Stop by these wonderful blogs to see amazing project and support the linky parties.
Wishing you a fabulous week and happy sewing……………Marie xxx
Oh wow Marie – I absolutely love your work. All the hand piecing and hand quilting is stunning. Looking forward to seeing these finishes 🙂
lots to do here and with hand quilting it takes time. I have two ready to quilt and two more that I will be getting ready in the next few days but not sure how to quilt!!! There is a great deal about making the blocks etc but very little on quilting
Wow, Marie! Love it all but I maybe a tad partial to the applique!
Your quilts are always so special!!! I don’t know. How you accomplish them all with so much hand piecing and appliqué. Hard to choose a favorite here as I can’t wait to see theGreen Tea together but I always love stars and the 30’s repros are perfect here! Did you EEP the stars?
Marie your projects are amazing…beautiful…incrediable.
Lovely handwork there … These need to be finished and showed off 🙂 Good luck with this quarter, I’ll be cheering you on!

Such beautiful quilts! I love the 30’s prints so much. The piecing is spectacular and can’t wait to see how you hand quilt it. Be sure to show it off. =)

Wow! Now that is some real artistry. Your quilts are gorgeous.
Hello Marie, I found you through the linky party. I love your creations! Greetings Christine.
Oh I love the pattern you’ve done. It reminds me of overlapping owl feathers! I am not a quilter. All I can do is hand sew dollies and curtains. So I am always in awe of intelligent and creative ladies like you who can do it all!
beautiful! such fantastic work!
They all look amazing! I can’t believe you will be hand quilting – that’s dedication!
You have my total admiration for your beautiful handwork! Thank you for sharing that with us.
Lovely work! I really love the Triple Irish chain!! Will you put anything in the white space? or maybe fancy quilting. 🙂 It’s so pretty.
Hand piecing – incredible! And I love that Triple Irish Chain. I’m putting that on my ‘someday’ list!
