Beautiful Stars Shining……

I am so delighted that I have had my beautiful Stars in your Eyes quilt top long arm quilted (pattern by Sarah Fielke, From Little Things Book).  I just love it! It’s quilted with an all over quilt design of swirls. The following pic shows a close up of the swirls.

I have loved making this quilt and enjoyed every step of the process.  I love how the stars come alive with the black and white border.  The thick citrus yellow strip just plays beautifully with the Stars.

For backing fabric I used Anna Maria Horner’s  Receiving line, Garden Party.  This fabric  has been in my stash for some time and its one of my favorites. The strong Aqua and beautiful coloured flowers gives a strong contrast to the softer coloured stars.

Well I am off to complete my binding so I can enter this quilt as completed on my Quarter 2 2013 Quilt Along hosted by the lovely Leanne at She Can Quilt. Birthday Wishes to Just Jude

This post sends Birthday Wishes to a very special Blogger Judith at JustJude!    Judith is from my home town – Belfast, Northern Ireland.  I first became aware of Judith when I noticed her comments on Leanne’s Blog She Can Quilt.      Can you imagine my excitement when I found a blogger from my home town given that I now live in Australia !   I  started to follow Judith’s blog Just Jude and made contact with her.  Then I had the pleasure of meeting Judith in person, a few weeks ago, when I visited my family.  You can only imagine my excitement when I called her and had the opportunity to participate in one of her classes.  I took along a quilt I made for a gift to show. This is a pic of Judith and I with a Quilt using  some of Leesa Chandlers fabrics  Under the Australian Sun .  The pattern is a nine patch by Jen Kingwell at Amitie.

I was so excited to see all the work from her students and the beautiful quilts that she made for class and Bee Blessed ( A charity quilting bee).   Stop by Judith’s blog to read about the latest  Bee Blessed Quilts that were sewed for the Mums and Babies of a local  HIV Unit !

 It is so wonderful to give back to the world.  Judith is an amazing  talented lady and I am very grateful that we had the opportunity to meet.  Happy Birthday Judith!
