Quarter 4 Projects 2013 Finish-A-Long

I am posting my Quarter 4 projects for the 2013 Finish A Long hosted by Leanne @ She Can Quilt.  I still have projects from my Quarter 3 list that I have made slight progress but not finished yet.  Here they are….

1.  Winding Ways Quilt

Winding Ways

Winding Ways 1r2

This is a Winding Ways Quilt that I have been hand piecing for my daughter. I have added a few more rows.  I have to baste and quilt.  Hand Quilting I love but timing might not allow it.

2.  Grandma’s Star

GS WIP 1r

This is a scrappy 1930 reproduction fabric quilt.  I finished the borders , basted the quilt and I started  hand piecing this Grandma’s Star quilt, in Quarter 3.  It was a big job to finish in one Quarter but I am very happy with my progress.

3.  Triple Irish Chain

Triple Irish Chain

In keeping with 1930’s  this Triple Irish Chain quilt top is  also in need of some borders.  The borders are made up of blocks so a lot of machine sewing.  I also want to hand quilt this one!!  I hoped to work on it in Q3 but haven’t made any progress.

4.  Table Runner.

Tablet Runner 1

This table runner was on my list for Q2 and Q3 and now Q4.  It needs to be finished!!

That concludes my list for Q3.  I’m looking forward to ticking a few off the list.  I am linking up with Leanne @ She Can Quilt for the Q4 2013 Finish-A-Long.  If you haven’t considered joining you should seriously think about it.  It is a great motivator to get those jobs out of the sewing room. Even if you don’t finish and make progress then you are moving toward your goals.    If you don’t make it this year you can always try for 2014.  The Finish A Long is moving to  Katy from The Littlest Thistle in Scotland.

I am  supporting the linky parties  with Fabric Tuesday @ Quilt Story  ,  WIP Wednesday @ Freshly Pieced, NTT @ My Quilt Infatuation, I Quilt @ Pretty Bobbins,   Whoop Whoop @Confessions of a Fabric Addict   and Finish It Up Friday @ Crazy Mom Quilts.  Stop by these wonderful blogs to check out all the lovely projects and/or link up and support them.

Wishing you a fabulous day.  As always, thank you for stopping!

Happy Sewing ………Marie x

  1. the winding ways one is so effective, did try to do a block but what a disaster! I also was drawn to the 1930`s block, tried to work out how it was done, think maybe the brown fabric was like a foundation and the other shapes have been added to the top of it?

  2. Love your Winding Ways and look forward to your finishing that one, of course, Marie. The Grandma’s Star quilting looks very sweet. And I can’t wait to see your scrappy, gorgeous triple Irish Chain as a finished top!

  3. As I scrolled down the page; each one I loved more than the one before. WOW….Ambitious beautiful work. I was so amazed to read you did the Winding Ways by hand piecing! It is beautiful. Congratulations on having so many beautiful projects.

  5. It’s my first time I see ” The Winding Ways Quilt” and I like it a lot! I have to make some in the future too 🙂
I believe you will finish your projects on time

  6. Oh you have some wonderful quilts in progress! I really love your Grandmothers Star quilt! Just beautiful! Your Triple Irish Scrappy chain in wonderful too. I have a Double Irish Scrappy quilt waiting to be finished. The top is done, the batting and backing have been purchased. So I have quite a fondness of your Irish Chain! I really like how you made red crosses at every intersection. It eally pulls the quilt together!

  7. Love all your hand piecing and the hand quilting you showed is just awesome 🙂 Hope you hand quilt the red and white one 🙂 Thanks for sharing all your gorgeous work! Kathi Found you on Confessions of a Fabric Addict 🙂

  8. I’m still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor! That Winding Ways quilt is just beautiful! I’ve always wanted to make one, and your choice of just one fabric (and gingham at that) has completely inspired me! Gorgeous.

And I love your triple Irish chain as well. Are you doing a theme with your quilts, 1930s and all? If you are, it’s a brilliant idea. Best of luck on your gorgeous quilts!
